All Israeli forces will be withdrawn 50 kilometers (32 miles) from the Suez Canal by tomorrow morning, Ambassador Abba Eban, head of the Israel delegation to the United Nations, last night informed UN Secretary General Dag Hammarskjold.
“As a result of this and of other troop movements carried out pursuant to the policy of progressive withdrawal, another infantry brigade is now being moved entirely out of Egyptian territory into the territory of Israel, and has been demobilized,” Mr. Eban said. “This is in addition to the withdrawals announced on November 24.”
