Israel told the United States the time is not right for a U.S.-led fact-finding mission into Israeli-Palestinian violence. Foreign Minister Shlomo Ben-Ami sent U.S. National Security Adviser Sandy Berger a letter Tuesday saying, “It would be unfair, inappropriate and very problematic for this fact-finding committee to begin work in the current atmosphere of continuing violence.”
