Israel’s trade balance for the first half of 1956 dropped 25,000,000 pounds below the same period of 1955, it was revealed here today with the publication of the figures.
The total deficit for the six month period was $109,000,000. Although the increase in deficit came at a time when exports rose 13,000,000 pounds, it was not seen here as a reason for concern because it is assumed that Israel is stockpiling goods from abroad.
