Israel once again voted in favor of the American resolution condemning Chinese aggression and abstained on the paragraph regarding possible sanctions, as the General Assembly today approved the resolution by the necessary two-thirds majority, forty-four to seven with nine abstentions.
Israel delegate Abba S. Eban asked for a separate vote on the paragraph under which the U.N. collective measures committee will consider sanctions against the Peiping regime, so that the delegation could abstain on that section of the resolution. Israel had voted just this way in the Political Committee ballot Tuesday night.
