Israel welcomed the Quartet’s decision to continue its isolation of the Hamas-led Palestinian Authority. “Taking a firm stand against the extremists while reinforcing the moderates are measures that complement one another and represent the correct course of action,” Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni said in a statement Sunday, referring to the latest resolution reached by the United States, United Nations, European Union and Russia, the diplomatic group overseeing the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.
