Israel will tolerate no interference by the Arab Governments into the Jewish State’s immigration policy, according to a statement made to the Times of London by Walter Eytan, director-general of the Israel Foreign Ministry.
The Times quotes Mr. Eytan today as saying that it was “sheer nonsense” to describe immigration into Israel as “aggressive.” Any Arab attempt to meddle with free immigration into Israel, Mr. Eytan is reported as saying, must be judged against the “familiar” background of Arab hostility to Israel, and judged accordingly.
