The state of Israel will take its place as one of the foremost defenders of the principle of collective security, now embodied in the United Nations Charter, Dr. Mordecai Eliash, Israeli Minister to London, declared today in an address to the Foreign Press Association.
He added he hoped that now that Israel had been admitted to the United Nations, the Arab states, which had ignored Israel’s existence in the preparation of U.N. plans for economic aid to the Near East, would reverse their attitude. The Minister stressed that Israel could serve as an “experimental station” for the entire region.
