Israel has declared its willingness to provide Brazil with storage and dock facilities in the Mediterranean port of Haifa. Janio Quadros, an opposition leader in the Brazilian Parliament, disclosed today that Israeli Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion had agreed to provide Brazil with the facilities, if asked to do so.
Mr. Quadros, a Presidential candidate in the forthcoming Brazilian elections, met Premier Ben-Gurion on a visit to Israel during his recent worldwide tour. In his discussion with the Israeli Premier, Mr. Quadros pointed out to Mr. Ben-Gurion the advantages of storage facilities at Haifa for Brazil’s growing trade with the Middle East.
