The Bank Hapoalim. The Workers Bank, Ltd., announced today substantial increases during 1958 in its balance sheet, total deposits, and balance of outstanding loans. The report also showed considerable gains recorded by subsidiaries and affiliates of the bank, including AMPAL, the Israel-American Industrial Development Bank and others.
The balance was reported as 194,500,000 pounds, a growth of 19 percent. Total deposits were 172,500,000 pounds, an increase of 22 percent, and the balance of loans outstanding was 132, 200, 000 pounds, an increase of nearly 23 percent. The consolidated balance sheet as of December 31, 1958 was reported to be 429, 000, 000 pounds.
