Israeli and Hamas officials disagreed over whether the leader of the Hamas military wing in Gaza, Mohammed Deif, was killed in an Israeli helicopter strike Thursday in Gaza City. At least two people were killed and 25 wounded when the helicopter fired a rocket at a car.
