One Israeli soldier was killed, and another wounded seriously, today, when a six-hour exchange of fire took place on the Israel-Jordanian border, after Jordanian positions started shooting at the Israelis this morning. United Nations military observers called three times for a cease-fire, which the Israelis accepted but the Jordanians ignored.
