A prize-winning Israel artist who lectures at the Haifa Technion has repudiated an anti-Israel letter that was published in the Communist party newspaper Pravda, over his own and some 90 other signatures, many of them Israelis. Itzhak Danziger, a sculptor, said he was misled as to the contents of the letter which accused Israel of persecuting Arabs in the occupied territories.
