Israeli authorities arrested some 800 Nazareth Arabs in a drive to smash a suspected Moslem Brotherhood underground movement in Nazareth, Reuters reported today from Israel. The arrested Arabs were believed to be linked with the Brotherhood–an extremist nationalist group which has been outlawed in Egypt.
In searches of Nazareth earlier this week the Israeli authorities were understood to have discovered large quantities of arms and ammunition and thousands of pounds of smuggled goods, the dispatch added.
