Reports circulating abroad that an attempt had been made on the life of Premier David Ben Gurion were officially denied here today.
An official communique issued here today explained that an Arab plane was shot down by a Jewish fighter over Israeli territory when the Arab pilot refused to obey an international signal and a separate hand signal motioning him to land. The Arab, although over Jewish territory, in the area between Kineret and Safad, did not comply but attempted to flee. One burst of machinegun fire was aimed at the Arab craft and it caught fire. It later crossed the Transjordan border and creased in flames.
