A local council was established yesterday at the Arab village of Faradis, near here, with the consent of the Ministry of the Interior. All members of the council are local Arab residents.

During the War of Liberation the members of the village helped nearby Jewish settlements and none of the inhabitants fled from their homes in response to the call of the invading Arab forces.

A military court at Nazareth today sentenced five Arab infiltrees to prison terms of one to ten years. The Arabs were armed when apprehended by Israeli border patrols.
