Israeli-born actress Natalie Portman was nominated for an Academy Award. Portman was nominated Tuesday for best supporting actress for her role in the movie “Closer,” an examination of love and betrayal. Portman, whose father is Israeli, reportedly has been studying at Hebrew University. The Oscars will be given out Feb. 27.
