The Israeli-British financial talks continued today in a two-hour factual meeting entailing a further exchange of views on the scope of negotiations.
Claims and counter-claims dating from the Mandatory regime over Palestine had been the subject of an exchange of notes between the governments prior to the opening of the meetings. The notes failed to reach final agreement, hence the talks here are still in a preliminary stage.
Charles Ramsden, overseas director of the Federation of British industries who is now visiting Israel to survey the progress of the Israeli industrial program, reported today that he was impressed by the accomplishments and by his reception here.
He made a study of the ways in which British industry can aid Israeli development. He remarked that there were parallel problems of Britain and Israel which could be solved by close cooperation. Mr. Ramsden will urge that an industrial mission come from Britain to Israel this autumn.
