Israeli Cabinet minister Amnon Lipkin-Shahak met in the Gaza Strip with Yasser Arafat in an effort to arrange a possible meeting Sunday between the Palestinian leader and Prime Minister Ehud Barak. The Israeli daily Ma’ariv reported that Barak is inclined to support a meeting, but is concerned it could boomerang if a terrorist attack occurs on the eve of Tuesday’s vote for prime minister.
