The Chief of Staff of Israel’s armed forces, Maj. Gen. Chaim Bar Lev, and the commander of the Israeli Navy, Shlomo Erel, yesterday cabled condolences to the United States Navy over the loss in mid-Atlantic of the nuclear submarine Scorpion. A message of condolence was also sent by a committee representing the families of crew members of the Israeli submarine Dakar which disappeared with all hands in the eastern Mediterranean last February.
