The Haifa district court imposed today a 15-year prison term on a veteran Lebanese spy who was captured by Israeli security forces on his sixth incursion into Israel. Omar Mahmud Ariffi, 35, slipped into Israel last November with two other members of the Syrian-sponsored “Palestinian Division” which has headquarters in Damascus. Shortly after the infiltration, the trio were intercepted by the security forces. In the clash that followed, Ariffi was seized and his companions killed.
