Prime Minister David Ben Gurion, Chief of Staff Moshe Dayan and other officials attended reinterment ceremonies today for 54 officers and enlisted men killed in the Sinai operation.
The bodies, which at the request of relatives, were placed permanently in Mount Herzl Military Cemetery, represented about one-third of the Israel fighting men who were killed in the campaign. Today was the Hebrew anniversary of the Sinai campaign.
