Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Arens holds little hope for rapid progress in Israeli-Palestinian talks, telling the Washington Institute for Near East Policy on Wednesday that he doubted the one-year period suggested by President Clinton was long enough. “If we’re going to be realistic, it’s not going to be a very quick process,” Arens told the audience of academics and policy-makers. “It’s going to take considerable time.”
