Israeli Defense Minister Yitzhak Mordechai appointed Maj. Gen. Uzi Dayan to serve as the next deputy chief of staff of the Israel Defense Force. Dayan is currently head of the IDF central command. Last week, the Cabinet approved the appointment of Maj. Gen. Shaul Mofaz as the next chief of staff.
