The heads of the Druze community in Israel have cabled members of that religious movement in the United States and asked them to appeal to the United States Government to intervene in the United Nations against the military suppression of the Druze in Syria, it was learned here today.

Meetings protesting the bloody campaign against the Druze in Syria have been held in every Druze village in this country, where some 20,000 Druze live. Speakers at these meetings have lauded the sympathetic attitude of the Israel Government toward the plight of the Syrian Druze, particularly Premier Moshe Sharett’s public statement of sympathy in Parliament earlier this week.
