Israeli Exports Increasing; Gain in Foreign Currency Reported

Israeli exports are increasing in dollar volume. Figures announced today show that, during the first quarter of 1959. January-March inclusive, exports totalled a value of $62,000,000, compared with $59,300,000 for the same period a year ago.

The oil refineries here, taken over by Israel from British owners last February 1, have increased production by ten percent in the last year, figures issued here ti>day disclosed. The figures showed that, of a total of 860 employes at the refineries. 100 are Arabs.
