Israel’s munitions factories are now producing a “super bazooka” anti-tank gun believed capable of piercing any known tank armor, it was reported here today. Defense sources denied, however, that an Israeli anti-tank missile was being tested by the West German Army with a view to possible purchase. Reports from Bonn last week asserted that the Germans were testing a wire-controlled rocket built in Israel of French design.
Official sources which now confirm Israel’s sale of the famed Uzzi sub-machine gun to the Bundeswehr, indicated today that the weapon being supplied to West Germany has modifications from the standard weapon used by the Israeli Army. The gun, now in stepped-up production, is made with a magazine for 25 rounds for the Israelis. The model delivered to the Germans has a magazine with a capacity of 45 rounds.
