Israeli forces killed 12 Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Troops surrounded a Palestinian Authority building in Nablus, killing three Al-Aksa Brigade gunmen in a firefight. Pressing their campaign to free a soldier abducted in the Gaza Strip on June 25, Israeli forces entered the town of Maghazi and came under attack by local gunmen. Six Palestinians, four of them armed, were killed.
