Israeli forces killed two Palestinians during an incursion in the northern Gaza Strip.
Troops and tanks entered Beit Lahiya early Wednesday on what military sources described as a mission to clear areas used by Palestinian terrorists to fire rockets and mortar bombs across the border.
Gunmen from Hamas and the Popular Resistance Committees attacked the Israeli forces, the sources said, and in the ensuing clash at least two Palestinians were killed. One was identified as a Popular Resistance Committees gunman. The other’s identity was not immediately known.
