Israeli Foreign Minister David Levy said he is filled “with sorrow and regret” at the strong second-place showing made by the xenophobic Swiss People’s Party in Sunday’s legislative elections. The vote took place less than a month after Austria’s far-right Freedom Party came in second in that nation’s parliamentary elections. “It’s not only in Switzerland, and it’s not only in Austria,” Levy said Tuesday. “Also in France we see this thing and also in Italy. This is a plague.”
