Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres tried to meet with senior Saudi Arabian leaders in Washington this week, but was rejected. Peres apparently tried to meet with Saudi Foreign Minister Saud Faisal, the Israeli daily Ha’aretz reported, hoping to persuade the Saudis to convince the Palestinians to take action against terrorism and return to the negotiating table.
