Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni asked Egypt to help press Hamas to moderate its views. Livni flew to Cairo on Wednesday for talks with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, a key Israeli-Palestinian power broker. Prior to her departure she said she would defend Israel’s decision to halt the transfer of tax revenue to the Palestinian Authority following Hamas’ election victory last week.
