Hundreds of companies all over the United States, and a multitude throughout the world, have enhanced their reputations and business by their resistance to the Arab boycott, Nathan Straus, III, chairman of the board of American-Israel Chamber of Commerce and Industry, declared in a letter to The New York Times.
Commenting on the “relative economic importance of Israel and the Arab countries,” Mr. Straus pointed out that “Israel’s total imports have already reached in volume close to half the purchases of the Arab states of the Middle East combined, with Israel’s proportion continually rising because of that country’s expanding industrial development and local consumption.”
