A new half-inch bullet proof glass shield has been installed between the Knesset floor and the newspapermen’s gallery in the Israel Parliament. This was one of a number of measures taken during the autumn recess to protect members against attacks such as last year’s bomb throwing episode when five Ministers were wounded.

The Parliamentary Correspondents Association, in a meeting today, decided to cease covering the meetings of the Knesset if a number of security measures, which newsmen consider restrictive, are implemented. Among the objectionable regulations is one barring newspapermen from a new restaurant for members of Parliament which is scheduled to be opened in the building next week.
