“Seven Israeli citizens-members of the His?adrut who, in accordance with a practice of several years standing, were in this country as instructors of prospective chalutzim, were arrested in Bucharest some time ago,” an announcement issued by the Israeli legation here today stated.
The announcement added that the Israeli legation here applied to the Rumanian Government for the release of the Israelis, but did not state what had been the results of this application. The detained Jews include six men and one woman, all of them members of collective settlements in Israel.
