The Israeli Ministry of Religion today opened its headquarters here with a brief ceremony attended by Minister of Religion Rabbi Judah L. Maimon; Rabbi Wolf Gold, member of the Jewish Agency executive; Sephardic Chief Rabbi Ben Zion Uziel; and a delegation of rabbis from DP camps in Germany.
Rabbi Gold, speaking in behalf of the Agency, voiced the hope that the transfer of the Ministry from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem would “be followed by other Ministries until the entire government moves to Jerusalem, Israel’s capital.” He added that the Jewish state is incomplete without Jerusalem as the capital.
