Moises Toff, director of the Latin American division of the Israeli Foreign Ministry and member of the Jewish state’s delegation to the United Nations, stated here he is optimistic about the attitude which most Latin American nations will adopt towards Israel should the Palestine case come before the U.N. General Assembly session in September.
Touching on the Argentine-Israeli commercial talks which are now being held here, Mr. Toff said that chances for a Tel Aviv-Buenos Aires trade accord are “reasonably good,” adding that Argentina understands it will be to her advantage to have a Middle East market. He voiced the hope that the Argentine representatives at the trade talks will take a “broad point of view” in the negotiations.
