Israeli officials protested a popular Egyptian film that depicts the burning of an Israeli flag during a demonstration held in Cairo on the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Jewish state. Referring to the 1979 Israeli-Egyptian peace treaty, a spokeswoman for the Israeli Embassy in Cairo said “Saidi at the American University” should not be shown “after nearly 20 years of peace.”
