Israeli officials welcomed a Turkish offer to sell the Jewish state water to help solve chronic shortages. “We are very receptive to the suggestion. The main problem is expense,” an Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman said Thursday. A day earlier, Turkey’s president, Suleyman Demirel, offered during a visit to Israel to supply the country with some 6 billion cubic feet of water a year.
