Israeli opposition leader Ariel Sharon said the Israel Defense Force should have sent in helicopters to try to rescue two soldiers before they were lynched by a Palestinian mob in Ramallah last month. Cabinet minister Amnon Lipkin- Shahak dismissed Sharon’s criticism, saying it was impossible at the time of the lynching for the government and army to know what was going on.
