Israelis sending parcels to Russia containing religious objects like prayer shawls and phylacteries have had the parcels returned to them, it was disclosed here today.

Soviet authorities even returned a package of ritual objects sent by the Israel Chief Rabbinate to the Moscow Jewish community. The returned parcels were stamped “undeliverable.” Parcels containing non-religious items were delivered to intended recipients in Russia.
