The Knesset, Israel’s Parliament, today passed a 1, 690, 000, 000 pound ($940, 000, 000) budget for 1960-61. The budget was made retroactive to April 1, the start of Israel’s fiscal year. A temporary three-month budget had been passed shortly before that date, when it became apparent that the permanent budget could not be legislated by the start of the fiscal year.
