Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Benjamin Netanyahu had their first clash hours after Netanyahu was sworn in as foreign minister. During a meeting Wednesday night, Sharon berated Netanyahu for saying in his first statement as foreign minister that the U.S.-sponsored road map for Middle East peace was “not on the agenda” because of an anticipated U.S. attack on Iraq.
