Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon discussed his meeting with President Bush before a crowd of some 1,500 people in New York. Sharon expressed pride that Bush viewed him as a “real partner” in discussing mutual Middle East concerns, and said, “We both agreed that rising terrorism, including that which is instigated by the Palestinian Authority today, is the most immediate threat to regional stability.”
