Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon may consider evacuating some Gaza Strip settlements if Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat considers his proposal for a long-term interim agreement, the Israeli daily Ha’aretz reported. Sharon is not contemplating similar evacuations in the West Bank, according to Ha’aretz. The paper said the idea will be presented as part of Sharon’s talks with Bush administration officials in Washington this week.
