Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon spoke of the necessity for “the free states of the world to create a unified and joint front” against terrorism, during a phone conversation with President Bush. The prime minister also told the president that Israel will continue to invoke its right to self-defense in light of the fact that the Palestinian Authority is not arresting terrorists and is not acting to prevent terrorist activity from its territories.
