Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon threatened to reimpose a blockade on the West Bank and Gaza Strip if violence flares anew. In a message to Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat, Sharon said the recent easing of sanctions would be canceled if the Palestinians take advantage of the situation to renew violence.
