Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon visited Ground Zero in New York. Last Friday’s visit kicked off Sharon s trip to the United States, which was cut short because of a series of deadly Palestinian terror attacks in Israel. After touring the wreckage of the World Trade Center, Sharon participated in a ceremony with Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, presenting him with a Jewish National Fund certificate for the 5,000 trees Israel planted in memory of victims of the Sept. 11 terror attacks.
