Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to attend a fund raiser in Jerusalem sponsored by two groups that have recently generated controversy with their actions to expand Jewish settlement in eastern Jerusalem. Other Cabinet ministers are also expected to attend the June 29 event, which is sponsored jointly by Ateret Cohanim and the Beit Orot Yeshiva. Meanwhile, a leftist member of Knesset and a peace group asked Israel’s High Court of Justice to reopen an investigation into the practices of Ateret Cohanim and other settler groups.
