Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu returned to Israel after visiting several European capitals over the weekend. During his last stop in London, the premier presented British Prime Minister Tony Blair with a four-point peace plan. Some Israeli media reports were skeptical about the plan, suggesting that his trip to European capitals over the weekend was intended to deflect possible American pressures on Israel. Blair, meanwhile, is expected to visit the Middle East next month to promote a more active European role in advancing the stalled peace process.
