Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he hopes that President Clinton survives the sex scandal plaguing the White House. “He is a friend to Israel,” said Netanyahu, who was himself involved in a scandal when he admitted to cheating on his wife, Sara, in 1993. Meanwhile, Israel’s former ambassador to the United States, Itamar Rabinovich, wrote in an Israeli newspaper that the ongoing scandal could harm the Clinton administration’s ability to move the Middle East peace process forward.
